WHAT DID I DO
After visiting the 'Moving to Mars' exhibition at The Design Museum, London, I was inspired to consider that with all the efforts we are going to to make Mars habitable, why not apply that knowledge and enthusiasm to our planet first?
This inspired me to create an alien creature that would incorporate both space technology and the flora/fauna on Planet Earth.
I began by creating some initial concept designs with digital drawing and photo-bashing. I then started on welding and sculpting my fiberglass body - this would be clothed so I didn't need incredible detail during this process.
I was able to get quite far with my plaster-waste mold and the resin fiberglass process, however, I had to leave my work at university due to the lockdown in March 2020.
